Cylindrical metal premix burners
Premix Burners

Product applications
- Burners for condensing boilers

PERFORMANCES
- Emissions: below the European Standards
- Input Rate: up to 150 kW
- Modulation: 1:10
- Durability: the burner has been specifically designed to resist thermal fatigue and corrosion. Tests have been carried out under extreme conditions which equate to 12-15 years life in a domestic application. Worgas has an in-house a sophisticated life test facility

SIZE & CHARACTERISTICS
- Cylindrical design in different sizes
- Blue and Radiant mode
- Methane gas as well as liquid petroleum gas can be used

CONSTRUCTION
To avoid corrosion, high temperature resistant materials are used.
The port pattern is designed to achieve extremely short flames.

WORGAS' EXPERIENCE
The manufacture of a burner to this design requires knowledge of punching port patterns, accurate press forming, "TIG" welding and assembly. All these operations have been undertaken by Worgas for more than 30 years in over millions of domestic gas burners.
The Project History
In 1997 Worgas made the strategic decision to enter the market for these burner products.
Worgas had designed a prototype premix burner. Its development prior to 1997 had identified reliability and material life as being crucial to long term market success. The Worgas research team was tasked with determining a test procedure that would provide sound evidence of product durability and performance prior to manufacturing investment. In the later half of 1997 Worgas was responsible for the development of a sheet metal premix burner with a modulation range of 1:5 for the European Project. The development of a test methodology to predict the lifetime of a burner was an important part of this E.U. project and highly relevant to Worgas task of verifying reliability of the cylindrical premix burner. By the end of 2001 Worgas had defined the design and test procedures and started a series of reliability testing. These would go beyond the scope of the E.U. project to ensure a reliable and cost effective premix burner design.
